Who We Are
Tomorrow is Better (TiB) is a registered, refugee-led non-profit organization based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, dedicated to empowering urban refugee communities through protection, skills development, livelihoods, advocacy, and community resilience.
Founded and led by refugees with lived experience of displacement, TiB delivers practical, sustainable, and community-driven solutions that promote dignity, resilience, and self-reliance among refugees from diverse nationalities living in Ethiopia. Since its registration in 2024, TiB has rapidly evolved into an active implementing and coordinating partner, working closely with government institutions, UN agencies, international NGOs, and local organizations.

Mission
To empower urban refugees in Ethiopia through access to legal protection, education, economic opportunities, and psychosocial support — enabling them to become active contributors, decision-makers, and drivers of positive change within their communities.

Our Goals
1. Enhance services in social, health, cultural, and legal sectors.
2. Advocate for refugee rights and gender-based violence prevention.

5. Provide quality education and school materials for refugee children.
6. Foster positive relations between refugees and host communities.

Background & Establishment
Tomorrow is Better (TiB) was founded and officially registered in 2024 in Addis Ababa as a refugee-led organization responding to the urgent and evolving needs of urban refugees in Ethiopia.
Beyond addressing critical gaps in legal awareness, livelihoods, and psychosocial support, TiB was established to ensure meaningful refugee participation in the design and implementation of programs affecting their lives. In a short period, TiB has built strong institutional partnerships and transitioned from a grassroots response to structured, multi-sectoral program delivery grounded in lived experience and community trust.
In 2025, Tomorrow is Better (TiB) represented refugee communities in Ethiopia at regional and international platforms in Uganda, The Gambia, and Geneva, amplifying refugee voices, contributing to policy dialogue, and advocating for refugee-led perspectives in regional and global forums.

Our Work & Ongoing Partnerships (2024–2025)
TiB implements and co-implements its programs through formal coordination and partnership agreements with government entities, UN agencies, international NGOs, and local organizations.

- Assistive Devices Support Project for Urban Refugees with Disabilities – Implemented in partnership with UNHCR, providing mobility and assistive devices for refugees with disabilities in Addis Ababa.
- Capacity Building and UPR-Based Advocacy Project – Implemented in partnership with Lutheran World Federation (LWF), strengthening refugee-led advocacy and engagement with international human rights mechanisms.
- Refugee Mothers Empowerment Hub – A refugee-led women empowerment and early childhood initiative selected under the Good Start Challenge, currently under implementation and scale-up preparation.

In 2025, Tomorrow is Better (TiB) was selected as a finalist of the Good Start Challenge, a highly competitive global innovation initiative supporting evidence-based solutions that improve the wellbeing of parents and caregivers in crisis-affected settings. TiB was recognized for its refugee-led solution “Refugee Mothers Empowerment Hub,” gaining international visibility, strategic acceleration support, and access to a global network of social innovators. - Migration Inc. TiB entered into a Joint Representation & Strategic Cooperation Framework with Migration Inc. in 2025, establishing a cross-border partnership to strengthen refugee leadership, coordinated advocacy, and joint representation at national, regional, and global levels. - International Representation & Advocacy
